UPDATED: Outlast 2 Cleared for Australian Release by Classification Board
UPDATE 2 (3/27/2017 7:30 PM ET): Red Barrels has reached out to us with an explanation of just what happened with the compartmentalisation of Outlive 2. The PR representative explained the confusion every bit follows:
"The pilot compliance of Survive 2 sent to the Australian Classification Branch controlled the final bet on code and a video file for reference work taken from an Important version of the game. This television file should not have been sent along with the game code, as its happy was not typical of the final game.
In the second entry, the same crippled code was submitted with a video file reflecting the closing game content. The game was then approved for release with an R18+ rating. There will be single one version of Outlast 2 disposable worldwide."
So, it sounds like the refusal to classify was based on out-of-date material, and that there were no changes made to Outlast 2 after all. That's good news for everyone complex.
UPDATE: The Australian Compartmentalization Board has told IGN that at the request of the Australian distributor for Outlast 2, the report along the reclassification wish non be released until March 25. More importantly, the Board said that "IT is satisfied that that the original version of the game that was refused classification has been modified to allow for the game to be classified R18+." This makes IT fairly clear that not single was the unfit edited to remove the content that the Board found objectionable, the worldwide interpretation has received similar edits. We've reached out to Red Barrels to confirm this, and will update with some reply we receive.

Marxist Barrels declared today that Outlast 2 has now been classified for bring out in Australia.
